BIO: AMY GOODLOE
I am an instructor in the Program for Writing and Rhetoric at CU Boulder, where I also served as the Digital Composition Coordinator for two years.
As the Coordinator and also as a long-‐time member of the PWR Digital Composition Committee, I’ve offered workshops on topics relating to digital composition for many years, including many two-hour workshops as well as a week long workshop for PWR faculty in the summer of 2011.
I’ve also offered digital storytelling presentations and workshops to the university community, through COLTT, Norlin Learner’s Lunch, the Association of Independent School Librarians, and other groups. See the Workshops page for more info.

SITE HISTORY
I started this site in 2010 in order to gather all the resources I’d created for students into one place. I also wanted to share those resources with other students and faculty who might find them helpful.
As you can see on the Popular Posts page, under the About menu, the resources that get viewed the most often are not the ones about digital composition, alas. But I’m hoping that will change as more writing teachers start to embrace the changing nature of literacy.
MY APPROACH TO DIGITAL STORYTELLING
PERSONAL NARRATIVE
My own approach was originally inspired by the Center for Digital Storytelling, which is the group credited with coining the term as well as promoting the concept long before the advent of social media.
You can learn more about their approach on their web site and in their Digital Storytelling Cookbook (PDF).
TEACHING APPLICATION
I first became interested in digital storytelling years ago when I wanted a way to transform my WRTG 3020 students’ personal narrative assignment into something more web-friendly than a text-based essay with photos. After I learned more about the specific approach known as digital storytelling, I transformed the assignment into something closer to what the CDS teaches.

PRESENTATIONS & WORKSHOPS
Given my background in digital composition, it didn’t take long before I’d developed enough expertise in digital storytelling to begin delivering presentations and workshops for educators who wanted to include it in their classes.
