STUDENT SAMPLE – My Gender, My Sexual Orientation

A Personal Narrative by Haley (WRTG 3020 – Summer 2011)

Primary target audience: The intended audience for my project is for anyone who is interested in learning more about how I came to discover my gender and sexual orientation. I incorporated pictures into my project in order to make it visually stimulating and cater to audiences of all ages.

Impact: When listening to my story, I want the reader to walk away with a better understanding as to who I am and why I turned out the way I did. I want them to be able to see through my pictures how I’ve developed as a person and hear through my story the different incidents that shaped who I am today.

How my project entices viewers: I incorporated a wide variety of pictures into my project in order to keep the audience interested and engaged. I attempted to keep my story light and some what humorous in order to keep the tone light and not make it as if I’m just simply telling my story to the reader in a matter of fact way.
