Digital Story by Sheridan (WRTG 3020 – Fall 2012)
I wanted to target college students and the purpose of my digital storytelling essay is to advocate the notion that everyone has a gender identity story whether they think they do or not and that each individual’s story deserves to be shared with others.
I also wanted to inform college students that at some point in their life they come to understand the concept of gender and how it has shaped their identity and expression. By examining past experiences, relationships with family and friends and even personal accomplishments or failures, one will realize that all these things have in some way shaped who you are today. Strategies I used include the incorporation of pictures from my childhood until college so that other college students feel they can relate to my story and the things I’ve experiences throughout my life.
