STUDENT SAMPLE – Breaking the Gender Binary: Gender Neutral Bathrooms

Mini-Doc by Jess (WRTG 3020 – Fall 2012)

My project entitled “Breaking the Gender Binary” focused on the concept of gender neutral/inclusive bathrooms, specifically on the CU Boulder campus. The purpose of my project was to raise awareness about what gender neutral bathrooms are, and explain to my audience of students, faculty, and staff on campus what work is being done around this specific issue.

To achieve the goal of raising thought and awareness on this important and relatively unknown topic, I used a combination of strategies to portray the information and messages to my audience. My project took on the form of a mini documentary, using pertinent images, narration, interview clips, and music to draw in my audience and maintain their attention. I found this topic very interesting, and enjoyed creating the project as well! I hope you enjoy watching!
